One area of design that I enjoy more than others is
the illustrations that I create, what I enjoy even more is manipulating hand -
drawn imagery using different effects and applications as well as creating
illustrations digitally from scratch, as you can see from the above image I have
incorporated this into a logo design for my graphic design business, not only
do I feel that it looks very effective and potrays the motive and
representation of the image but I also feel that it looks extremely good with
regard to other peices of illustrative work that I have done in the past.

As you
can see above this is one of my favourite illustrations, this was done hand
drawn from scratch in the space of 24 hours, I particularly enjoy the shading
effects and the methods used to highlight certain areas. Granted there could be
more improvement made but as illustrative work is quite a passion of mine I am
pleased to show this peice of work as I believe it looks very effective.
My
career in Graphic Design has developed drastically over the past three years,
it has improved to the point where my enjoyment for the subject knows no
limits. I have reached the stage where whatever activity I am doing, whether it
be going to the liubrary to research or just playing pool with colleagues, I am
constantly thinking about new design ideas.

When
out performing certain tasks one of my main methods of gathering design ideas
is photography, if I were to look at a building at a certain angle one thought
that would pop into my head is to document the image I see before me and
perhaps use it in a future design. once taken I may use these images as they
are but most of the time I take enjoyment out of uploading the selected
photographs and either manipulating them on certain applications or creating
illustrative work using one of the images. Many of my photographs are of things
that I feel are good to look at, of things that maybe mean something to myself
as a designer.
