Level 1Level 1 is intended to be diagnostic, supportive, experimental and challenging. It is designed to provide students with a broad based intensive programme that introduces the basic technical, practical and theoretical skills across the subject of interactive screen based design. This provides the basis for informed choice of specialist study at levels two and three. Units include: Digital Practice Audio Visual Typography Critical Analysis 1
Level 2Level 2 Students undertake more advanced study and begin to conduct their own research and develop a professional attitude towards their own practice. Participation in national / international design competitions, film and animation festivals and the undertaking of live project work are encouraged. All activities are conducted under the monitoring and guidance of staff. Units include: Advanced Digital Practice Interactive Design 1 Interactive Design 2 Critical Analysis 2
Level 3Level 3 Through discussion with academic staff, students determine the nature and direction of their practical work, encouraging them to take full responsibility for the management of their learning. Students are expected to demonstrate a capacity for in-depth research and original insight, critical judgment, creativity and technical competence. Units include: Interactive Design 3 Interactive Design 4 Independent Study: Dissertation |
